Remove Jkay 12.1 (or older version) before installing this update, after installation open “My Files”, go to “/JKay” folder and install “JkayDeluxeSettingsV13_1.apk”.

Please don’t make mirrors, link to this post instead, it helps me to know how many people are using my Rom.

It’s highly recommended to read installation page before installing the Rom.

It could be just my phone but I thought I would share my experience anyway. I had been using SpeedMod Kernel because I feel that their concept is a good one, especially for the S2 phone which is already very fast as it is. Their basic concepts are:

    Quote ”
    - Super stable: No undervolting, overclocking or potentially unstable modifications
    - Fast and smooth: Compiler and code optimizations
    - Excellent battery life: Remove unnecessary logging and debugging”
    Unquote.

After flashing this ROM, I could felt that my phone works smoother and gives me slightly battery performance. The Quadrant score went up from about 3600 to 4500. I tried switching just the kernel to the latest SpeedMod to see how it performs but was disappointed. It pulled my score back to about 3600. I noticed that with SpeedMod kernel, it had problem at the I/O performance section as it hesitates a lot. Whilst Siyah kernel got thru the step in split of a second the SpeedMod kernel just hung there for many seconds as if the program had stopped responding — it continued in the end. I won’t rule out there may be something wrong with my phone although Siyah kernel works perfectly. The video performance are similar for both kernels.

p.s. The tests were done without over clocking.

Sorry for the typo: “slightly battery performance” should read “slightly better battery performance”.

Just read this page at XDA:
      http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182498&highlight=titanium&page=485

This refers to the I/O performance problem with SpeedMod kernel that I mentioned above. Apparently I am not the only one to experienced this. Below is the comments made by an XDA member:

      Quote
“i am liking the latest speedmod kernel k18-test 8, very smooth. but i do do find when running antutu 2.2 with kj2 rom, the databse i/o and sd card write score is very low when compared to stock kernel or even siyah 2.1″

    Hi….

Love your Rom, nothing else compares, just installed 5.9

I am just having a issue after I have installed the new Jkay and followed your instructions of doing the uninstall, rebooting and installing the new .apk

Get the error “Deluxe Theme has expired (12<13)! Not all settings will work!"

I am also using ICS Domination 1.4 theme, could the error stem from that possibly?

    Thanks
    Russ

    • wanam

Yes, i have same issue with other themes, maybe they are not based on same release ( mine is 13.1.1) of jkay.

      • Russell

Thanks, just read on the ICS Domination thread he will be releasing a new version to cater for 13.1

    Dear Sir,

I learned about your marvelous ROM creation through an XDA forum. At first I didn’t care too much about it in terms giving it a try since I was rather contented with CheckRom etc. Also, for some reason the suffix “Lite” gave me an impression that it was just a stripped down version versus a highly optimized one which you have done. I decided to give it a try because it was highly recommended by one of your admirers. I am really glad that I did and now your ROM replaced all my other versions that I have tried. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful work.

    Best Regards,
    Keng
